This is the front of the temple. It is on a high bluff overlooking the Mississippi River facing West.

The Salt Lake Temple faces east. Both have gold covered, carved writing saying "HOUSE OF THE LORD".

  1. Wow I can't believe you are in Nauvoo. The kids think this temple is beautiful. We'll have to go someday. Thanks for sharing it with us. We love you.

  2. The pictures of the temple are SOOO impressive! I never knew you were a photographer. I can't wait to share them with my primary. Did you make it to church on Sunday? Did our mapping work? We love and miss you. Can't wait to see you in Powell!

  3. LHC, This is Jayson Fugal--Josh's older brother. He told me about your adventure today and I've read the whole blog with rapt attention! Good for you, what an awesome challenge. I did a few 200 mile, self-supported bike trips as a teenager--they were a lot of work and a lot of fun. You've inspired me to plan some more bike trips. I look forward to reading all your updates.
