Part of the "Winter Quarters" town site is now a park in the middle of Florence Nebraska. Florence is a real neat place with lots of historical references and original sites, all of which are available.

- On July 3rd or 4th, 2009 I will start an adventure that I have been looking forward to for a long time: Take three months off work and conduct a self supporting bicycle ride from Washington DC to Salt Lake City Utah and then visit family for a month. We will have to see how it turns out.
