This is the front of the temple. It is on a high bluff overlooking the Mississippi River facing West.
The Salt Lake Temple faces east. Both have gold covered, carved writing saying "HOUSE OF THE LORD".

- On July 3rd or 4th, 2009 I will start an adventure that I have been looking forward to for a long time: Take three months off work and conduct a self supporting bicycle ride from Washington DC to Salt Lake City Utah and then visit family for a month. We will have to see how it turns out.

I did a few 200 mile, self-supported bike trips as a teenager--they were a lot of work and a lot of fun. You've inspired me to plan some more bike trips. I look forward to reading all your updates.
